Communities across Canada need new ways to finance affordable housing, clean energy, and other local priorities, but current investment policies often make it difficult for community-led projects to access capital. Join CECC and Suzanne Faiza of the Canadian Coalition for Community Capital for an engaging webinar exploring how targeted federal policy changes could unlock community investment, strengthen local economies, and accelerate the growth of renewable energy co-operatives across Canada.

In this webinar, we will be joined by Suzanne Faiza to discuss the Canadian Coalition for Community Capital. The coalition is leading an advocacy campaign focused on creating the policy conditions needed to grow community capital in Canada. With communities facing urgent needs for affordable housing, clean energy, and local infrastructure, and Canadians increasingly looking for ways to invest in solutions that benefit their communities, targeted changes to the federal tax system could help unlock the potential of community investment and better connect capital with community needs.

Unlocking community capital is an important component of growing the renewable energy co-operative sector in Canada. Suzanne will introduce the campaign, explore why these changes matter for the sector, and share how you and your organization can get involved in advocating for a stronger community capital ecosystem.

This webinar event is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Low Carbon Economy Fund, with special thanks to Environment and Climate Change Canada for their support.
