CECC is Hiring!

Join CECC to Strengthen Community Energy Networks Across Canada

We are excited to announce an open opportunity for a Community Energy Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This part‑time, remote position offers meaningful work connecting and empowering communities across Canada, bringing people together to strengthen networks of renewable energy cooperatives and amplify their impact.

At Community Energy Co‑operative Canada (CECC), we believe in the power of community ownership to shape a more sustainable and equitable energy future. CECC was formed to support renewable energy cooperatives (RECs) nationwide, helping communities come together to lead the clean energy transition through collaboration, capacity building, and shared resources.

The Community Energy Engagement Coordinator will play a vital role in advancing CECC’s national efforts by:

  • Supporting knowledge sharing through an Information Hub and coordinating webinars and workshops.
  • Fostering collaboration between RECs, Indigenous communities, academic partners, and stakeholders.
  • Promoting inclusive engagement that values diverse voices and ensures community needs guide our work.
  • Supporting fundraising and grant development to sustain CECC’s initiatives and events.

This work is funded through the Renewable Energy Co‑operative Enhancement Initiative (RECEI) with support from Environment and Climate Change Canada.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about community energy, collaborative engagement, and sustainable development. Fluency in both English and French is essential to effectively connect with national stakeholders and support CECC’s bilingual mandate. The ideal candidate will bring experience in community engagement, cooperative development, Indigenous allyship, and fundraising support. We welcome applicants from across Canada.

Flexible, Remote, and Impact‑Driven

CECC is a fully remote organization, offering the flexibility to work from your preferred workspace while staying connected to a national network. The role requires occasional travel within Canada to support events and partnerships. Whether you live in a major city or a rural community, we encourage qualified candidates from across the country to apply.
